How can I find out if this is an option for me?
You won't know unless you give it a try. With 1HourTooth we make your initial CEREC® experience easy. We are the only company in this country that has the ability to come to your office and provide 1-on-1 coaching. For your nerve wrecking first few case, our Coach will be along side of you in providing the maximum confidence and support.
CEREC® is a large investment, is it really affordable as my rep suggested?
First of all, 1HourTooth.com do not sell CEREC®, we are not part of Patterson Dental®. We are simply a bunch of guys who enjoyed CEREC® so much that we like to spread the words on what a great technology CEREC® is. With 1HourTooth.com, now you have the option in trying the CEREC® technology out first in the comfort of your own office, working on your own patient with absolutely no "Sales Pressure". Then the decision should be easy.
What is CEREC®?
CEREC® is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Translated, it means that a dentist can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.
How does the instrument work?
This process uses CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and milling machine in one instrument. Once your patient's tooth is prepared for crown, you will use a special camera to take an accurate picture of the prepared tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where you will use CAD software to design the restoration. Once finished designing, the CAM takes over and automatically creates the restoration while your patient waits. Finally, you will bond the new restoration with either Unicem® or Multilink®. As a new CEREC® user, you need not worry about the supply for the procedure. Each and everyone of our mobile unit is fully equipped with all the dental supplies needed to finish and cement your first few CEREC® restorations for a nominal fee. As you become more comfortable with the process, and began to use our lab service on a routine basis, we do encourage you to stock your own supply for the CEREC® procedure.

What is the difference among the CEREC OmnCAM®, BlueCAM, RedCAM®, software version 4.0x, 3.8x, and prior versions?
Every techonology follows Moore's Law, and CEREC® is no different. Sirona is always looking into ways to improve their software and therefore they have many updates and hardware upgrades. Just on the hardware end, within the past 5 years, CEREC® technology has leaped from RedCAM® to BlueCAM®, and as of this August, they intruduced OmniCAM®. What does this mean to CEREC Doctors are very simple, it maks your life easier, faster, and shallower learning curve. On the software end, the difference between v4.0x and v3.8x is the graphical interphase, the improved tool functions, and the ability to design multiple units together; the difference between 3.8 and 3.6 is in significant, the biggest thing in 3.8 is the biogenetic modeling.
I have been approached by my Pattrerson Reps repeatedly regarding upgrades? Should I take the leap? or should I wait for the next great thing?
Since we do not sell CEREC® equipment, we do not give advice as to whether you should or should not upgrade. This is a question for yourself, your spouse, your accountant, and your staff members.
However, many offices on the fence do call us in to tryout these equipment at the comfort of their office without any "Sales Pressure", and survey our technician with pertinent questions. Our technician are cautioned against giving advices, but they are very willing to share with you about their preferences.
Are there any other competitive companies for 1HourTooth?
So far, we believe we are the only one that is setup to roll CEREC® units into the dentist's office. Our closest competition are the basic laboratories, and the Dentist's in-house laboratories.
How long is the doctor training?
Initial Doctor's training is 36 hours, it is basically comprised of 4 hours of lecture, 4 hours of Staff and Assistant training, and 24 hour of hands on practice (about 6 to 8 cases) and 4 hoours of Q&A; Once doctors has the basic understanding of CEREC, and of camera maneuver, he or she should be able to start scanning their patients with the help of our 1HourTooth Coach member. This OJT will continue until Dotors are comfortable.

How does the system work? How does the milling center receive data from a dentist office?
You don't have to purchase a CEREC machine, we bring one to your office to use for that crown, once crown is scanned, we transfer that information directly to our Mobile lab unit, where your Technician will design and finish the restoration. He or she shall have the restoration ready for you to cement usually within 25 minute.
How long has CEREC been used in Dentistry?
CEREC recently celebrated their 27 & half Year Anniversary, they have a proven track record.
What about color (shade)?
If anything, this is the only drawback with CEREC. It's like buying a t-shirt... small, medium or large... no in-between shades... However, empressCAD does offer a good variety of shades, ranging from A1 to D3, and each shade has 2 different level of translucency. Hi or Low.
How much do you charge per crown?
Our prices are very competitive, your specific pricing will depend on your office's volume and payment arrangements. Please contact us for detail.
How many mobile scanning units do you have?
Currently we have 6 mobile scanning units and we are looking to add 2 more by next spring.
What if I buy my own scanning unit and transmit files to you, how long does it take for you to deliver a crown to me, will I get a better price?
We are a member of CEREC Connect, if you have a scanning unit, then you can simply send the file to us for design and mill. For those clients located near our Newbury St office with good volume, we can messenger over the crowns in less than 30 minutes. Price are as always varies by volume.
Do you do bridges?
Yes, eMax layered bridge is available upon special request
I heard CEREC's crown lacks asthetic( anatomy) compared to regular lab?
Anatomy is a mater of opinion, if you request for anatmoy, we can design with such, however, since the porcelain block is uniform in color, unless you request fro staining and glazing, occlusal anatomy will not be as noticable as PFM's.
I am ready to try the service, how do I sign up?
We will sign you up and setup an account as soon as your doctors have gone through our coaching session.
How soon do we have to schedule you?
Minimally two weeks in advance but you can always try to call us in case we have a slot open or cancellation. Same day emergency is possible.
